Short Biography

Dr. Jonathan WONG graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic Occupational Therapy Department. He was designated by the Hospital Authority to attend sexual rehabilitation training offered by the Boston Medical Center in 1996-2000. He obtained the qualification of Certified Sexuality Counselor from the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists in 2001. He was then conferred, Master of Science in Psychology from the Walden University in 2011; Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in 2018. He served as the Sexuality Counseling and Rehabilitation clinician in-charge in the Community Rehabilitation Service Support Centre (Hospital Authority) from 2001 to 2020. Since 2021, he has been appointed as the Honorary Senior Occupational Therapist in departments of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in the New Territories East Cluster hospitals and Queen Mary Hospital. In addition to supporting the Assisted Reproductive Technology Unit (CUHK, PWH) in the provision of sexuality counseling service, he also offers advice on the service development and provides the related training and supervision to medical and nursing trainees.

Dr. Wong adopts an interprofessional collaborative approach to integrate sexuality science, clinical psychology and occupational therapy in the development of sexuality counseling and rehabilitation. He is active in the design and delivery of the related interprofessional education. His teachings included lectures delivered in two Master of Science programmes (CUHK): “Reproductive Medicine and Clinical Embryology” and “Stroke & Clinical Neuroscience”.
