Short Biography

Professor CHAN Yiu Leung David earned his bachelor degree in Biotechnology in Ulster University (UK) in 2002 and his MPhil in brain cancer research in The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2006 respectively. In the same year, he was a Visiting Scholar in University of Pennsylvania (Center for animal transgenesis and germ cell research) to study reproductive cloning. He then obtained his DPhil in chromosome engineering from University of Oxford (UK), Nuffield Department of Medicine in 2011, supported by Clarendon Award and Hong Kong China Oxford scholarships. Professor CHAN had his post-doctoral training in CUHK briefly and then he was trained and practiced in embryology and andrology in University of Hong Kong (HKU), Queen Mary Hospital (QMH) for four and a half years. He joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, CUHK in August 2016 and was appointed as Research Assistant Professor in the reproductive medicine team since and was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2021. He is now overseeing the ART lab services in the Prince of Wales Hospital and the CUHK Medical Centre ARC unit.
