Egg FreezingEgg Freezing

Generally, the journey for the egg freezing includes the following stages, you are also welcome to visit our website for fertility preservation and query the charging fee.

Step 01
Initial consultation and assessment (one visit)
Initial consultation and assessment (one visit)

Discuss individual needs, health status, and indications for egg freezing (e.g., age, medical factors, etc.) with our reproductive medicine specialist. Please bring along your personal medical records (if any):

Doctors may advise the following if needed:

Hormone testing/monitoring: Assess ovarian function (such as AMH, FSH, Estrogen, etc.).

Ultrasound scan: Check the number of andral follicles in the ovaries.

Screening for potential infectious diseases: such as AIDS (HIV), Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, etc.

Step 02
During the stimulation phase - Controlled Ovarian Stimulation (COH)
During the stimulation phase - Controlled Ovarian Stimulation (COH)

If the doctor consider you are suitable for oocyte freezing:

Use "induction drugs" (such as FSH, LH) to stimulate the ovaries and promote the simultaneous development of multiple follicles.

The course of treatment is about 8-12 days, with regular follow-up visits to monitor follicle size and hormone levels (about three to four visits - ultrasound and blood test), vaginal ultrasound and blood tests every 2-3 days, and dosage adjustments.

Step 03
Triggering ovulation
Triggering ovulation

When the follicles mature (about 16-20mm in diameter), the injection of "hCG" or "GnRH agonists" promotes the final maturation of the egg. The surgery was performed within 36 hours after the triggering.

Step 04
Oocyte Retrieval Surgery
Oocyte Retrieval Surgery

Conscious sedative oocyte retrieval: performed painlessly, the whole process takes about 15-30 minutes.

Transvaginal ultrasound-guided oocyte retrieval (TUGOR): use a fine needle to puncture the mature follicle and aspirate the oocytes.

Post-operative recovery: You may discharge on the same day, and you may experience mild abdominal pain or bloating (the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation needs to be observed).

Step 05
Egg Freezing
Egg Freezing

Laboratory procedures: After the eggs are collected, washed and denuded, the oocyte maturity (MII) is evaluated (only mature eggs will be frozen) for freezing (vitrification).

Oocytes will be vitrified and stores in liquid nitrogen (-196°C).

Storage fee: Eggs are stored in our reproductive center with an annual fee applies (see website).

Step 06
Follow-up IVF treatment
Follow-up IVF treatment

Warming of oocyte for IVF treatment: When you are planning to have children, the eggs will be warmed for laboratory fertilization and embryo culturing. Suitable embryo at good quality will be transferred to uterus for pregnancy.

Success Rate Factors: Depends on age at freezing, egg quality, and survival rate after warming.

Notes

Age recommendation: Frozen eggs before the age of 35 are of better quality.

Cost: Varies depending on the number of sessions and oocyte storage time, usually including medications, surgery, and storage fees.

Risks: Ovulation induction may results in ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), but the risk is very low.
