Subfertility rate increases with female age, particularly in women in their thirties and forties. There are many reasons why couples may struggle to have a baby. Hence, it is important for them to be looked after in a unit with a passion and long history of treating infertility.

The Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) Unit of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Prince of Wales Hospital was established as a joint project between the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Prince of Wales Hospital in 1984. Our Unit provides both private service and public service. We pride ourselves in providing you with a personalized IVF service which is completely focused on giving you the best possible chance of conceiving a child. We offer a unique spectrum of special services to cater for the needs of the patients.

Our staff are experts, renowned with a long track record in the field. Dr. CHEUNG Lai Ping, Person Responsible of the ART Unit, has worked in the area of reproductive medicine for almost 20 years. Our nursing staff are highly trained in caring for IVF patients and do everything they can to make the journey as stress-free as possible. We have a highly qualified and experienced team of embryologists working in the IVF laboratory to help you achieve your goal towards a healthy pregnancy.

The ART Unit operates a comprehensive quality management system ensuring the highest standards of care. We are the first Unit to achieve the ISO 9001 accreditation. In addition, our Unit has been granted a treatment license by the Council on Human Reproductive Technology, which authorizes us to conduct infertility treatments.

Our patients are always at the forefront of our minds, and our aim is to help every couple in having a baby the first time they attend our Unit for treatment.
